With his more than 30 years' experience in ASC strategy and operations, Mark leads our efforts to launch and expand high-performing surgery centers for our health system and physician partners.

Before joining Compass, Mark spent 19 years at SCA Health, serving as Chief Development Officer for six of those years. He has led M&A from end to end — sourcing opportunities, guiding transactions through diligence and close, and working side by side with operational and clinical teams to ensure successful integration.

Mark’s approach is collaborative and outcomes-focused, with a track record of delivering scalable, sustainable growth. “I work with health systems to build ambitious ambulatory strategies tailored to local service area needs,” he says. “The result is stronger physician engagement, accelerated network density, alignment with insurers, and high-quality, lower-cost surgical care for patients.”

Outside of work, Mark stays active — both literally and figuratively. An avid hiker, he has logged more than four million steps in the past year, often with his spirited young Rat Terrier, Apache, trotting alongside him. He is the proud father of three adult children and is a graduate of the University of Tennessee at Knoxville.
